Lorna Babcock’s enchanting art reflects the natural world that she loves so much. Yet, she is equally at ease creating cityscapes.  Her original murals and decorative painting grace the walls of homes and businesses from metro Denver and Colorado’s mountain communities to places like Taos and beyond.

Lorna studied illustration and fine arts at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, which she attended on scholarship, and the Art Institute of Colorado.  She has created fun chalkboards for the Chili’s national restaurant chain and other eateries; and co-owned Reality Creations, which specialized in interior faux finishing.

She’s adept at applying sought-after color washing techniques that can incorporate real leaves, tissue paper, handmade paper, Venetian plaster, gold and silver leafing, copper patina, etc.  Lorna’s two sons were the inspiration for whimsical wall scenes that now delight the youngsters of her clients, too.

Lorna is now also happily creating woodburnings on birch of elk, bears, owls and other wildlife at her studio in Frisco, Colorado.
